After Victor Aubert died in 1948, the city museum remained practically closed despite the action of Jacques Samoên in 1957 and Raymond Klein in 1970.

ANIMATION AND EVOLUTION OF THE STATUTES
The municipality entrusted the animation to ACIME and more precisely to Marcel Tréboit (disappeared in 2012). Thanks to him the museum has experienced an unprecedented boom. Since then, the museum is regularly open.

tHE BUILDING
REMAINS OF AN ANCIENT PRIORY
The museum is hosted in the remains of an ancient priory founded in 1076 by monks of the Norman abbey of Saint-Evroult.
Today, there remains a beautiful tithe cellar (XIII th cent.) and a superb timber frame (XlV th cent.)..
